So, after thinking for a while I guess I finally got permission to begin actually having posts on our wedding site. Now for me, the opportunity to write something isn’t new but being able to do it for the two of us is now different. One of the things a groom has to realize is that no matter what you will have to take responsibility of many things for the two in the couple. We will see how I do!
Well, this weekend we had the opportunity to take some engagement shots down in the DC area with Augustus Smith Photography. Well, the chance to get away from the busy life style that has become normal was eye-opening. I was able to take some time with my beautiful fiance and just enjoy the two of us hanging out and spending idle time together. And, of course the fact that we were being photographed while it was happening just made it all the better for me. I am always the guy behind the lens, so being able to be in front of the camera again gave me an appreciation for what I go through and for what my clients go through. Bill from Augustus Smith made us feel at home as he simply documented Aleasha and I spending some much needed free time together.
There is simply serenity involved when getting to relax from the trying moments of life. But there is something else to be said about doing it while you are being photographed. You get the opportunity to show off! At least that is what they thought I was doing. I am really a jovial person but my work sometimes just makes me too serious. So what do I do, pretend like I am Dr. Jeckel and Mr. Hyde!
I learned a lot about my wife to me and I during this experience. I learned that no matter what this event, this joining of two souls, two spirits, two unique individuals is not easy. I am reminded that Love is a choice! Love is not just feeling like you are floating on air. Love is not just feeling like you are on cloud 9. Love is about making a choice, making a commitment to be involved day by day with another person whom you ultimately get to smile with every morning no matter what happened the night before.
Aleasha, I choose you, no matter the time or the season!
Baby I choose you!
